Low Income Disability Discount Overview English & Spanish - printable version
Qualified Franklin PUD applicants may receive a 30% monthly discount based on their total annual household income and a qualifying disability for themselves or a household member. The discount is effective the day the certification is completed and approved. Only one discount per customer is allowed and will be applied to the residence where the disabled individual resides. A certification, disability verification and income verification are required every year or upon request of Franklin PUD in order to continue receiving the monthly discount.
How to get certified:
- To apply please go to Franklin PUD’s main administration building, located at 1411 W. Clark St. in Pasco, Monday - Friday from 8:30a.m. - 5:00p.m.
Required Documents:
- Proof of address - WA State Driver License or ID
- Franklin PUD statement
- One of the following:
- Proof of Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- Bank statement showing a direct deposit of a Social Security benefit
- Benefit award letter(s) from Social Security
- Proof of a valid Washington State Disabled Parking Permit. Physician certification is not required if valid Washington State Permit is provided.
- Provide certification of disability by a Physician or Mental Health Professional. This form will be provided to you by Franklin PUD and Sustainable Living Center.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicant must provide required documentation listed above.
- Applicant must have electric service under Rate Schedule No. 1 Residential and Small Farm Service.
- Applicant must meet income guidelines listed below. The income guidelines used for certification (including spouse or co-tenants) for the previous calendar year:
